Marjorie Brown Pierson (b. New Iberia, Louisiana, 1961) is a visual artist based in Durham, North Carolina. She seeks to capture the fragile beauty of disappearing wetlands in the American South, and explores water as a source of inspiration and cultural identity. Her work has appeared in a growing number of solo and group exhibitions, including the 2009 North Carolina Artists Exhibition and the 2009 Southern Open, and selected for inclusion in juried shows by curators (Dr. Kimberly Rorschach of Duke's Nasher Museum), critics (Eleanor Heartley), and artists (Barkley Hendricks and Beverly McIver). Ms. Pierson's work is represented in private and corporate collections across the country.
