Jeweler
A native of North Carolina, Rachel Bass fuses her refined sense of style with her serene Southern sensibilities in her line of handcrafted jewelry. After earning a BFA in Creative Writing, Rachel settled in Durham, NC where she launched Rachel Bass Designs in 2004. Being both trained and self-taught in the craft, Rachel relies on her innate sense of balance and color to create jewelry that gracefully adorns. Ethereal gemstones and pearls lend themselves to the creation of jewelry that is both subtle and sensuous: silk necklaces shimmer with tiny seed pearls hand-knotted between dewy drops of moonstone, chandelier earrings flaunt berry-hued droplets of pink tourmaline and amethyst, and strands of silver and aquamarine drape the neck like gossamer. Many of Rachel’s designs display intriguing combinations of colors and elements that reveal more character together than alone. All of her designs boast the brilliance of quality materials, a keen design sense and precise craftsmanship.
