Durham Voice

VOICE has a new home in Building 4!

Driven by local urban youth, the home-grown community paper provides a venue for localized discussion and civic engagement in the "Bull's Eye" of Durham.

A newly restored, green Golden Belt—one of Durham, North Carolina's last historic textile mills to be creatively reused—draws a dense arts energy to downtown Durham with artist studios, live/work loft apartments, offices, restaurants, retail, live music, events and more. Situated on the corner of Main and Fayetteville streets, the seven-acre campus unites an uncommonly thoughtful blend of people, arts, entertainment and commerce and takes cues from the local culture and the nation's best urban settings.

Golden Belt achieved LEED Gold certification in recognition of its sustainable, green features in 2009. GB is the largest, all-historic, Gold-certified campus in the Southeast and one of only two LEED-certified options for large office/retail space in the Triangle.  Read more.

Downtown Arts Destination

The event scene at Golden Belt is rich with unconventional art exhibitions, live music, theater and dance performances, and great local cuisine.  Every Third Friday Durham, the campus is packed with people and activity.  Check the calendar for upcoming events and come shop the thirty-five artist studios and LabourLove Gallery.

Golden Belt Neighborhood, Be A Part of the Scene

As Jim Wise from the News & Observer wrote, the Golden Belt Neighborhood is "alive again".  With a newly formed neighborhood association and restored historic homes, the area is Durham's up-and-coming historic district.  Be a part of the revitalized GB and downtown Durham by owning your own home. View houses for sale.
