Many of these images are a small part of students’ lived perspectives while taking their first steps from home. It can be argued that NCSSM is a liminal space between home and adulthood. They still look to their families but have now created unique relationships with their peers. Sometimes this shift alone is more challenging than multivariable calculus.\nPeer into their lives in this collection of work by present and past digital photography students. Art and photography are alive and well at a school primarily focused on the sciences — they demonstrate that scientific scholarship cannot exist without creativity and expression to guide their academic journey. They give us a look at the joy of being young, the curiosity of what is around them, and the challenges of leaving home, sometimes prematurely.”\n\n\n\n \n\n
